My timeshare resort was damaged by Hurricane Sally in 2020 and as repairs are being made they remain closed during my fixed week. I own 3 weeks and have paid over $3000. In maintenance fees for 2021. Now I’ve been told they have already rescheduled as many as they can and have no availability left for future reservations. And I will just lose my weeks. Although they are not refunding my maintenance fees. Shouldn’t the resort have to compensate the timeshare owners for their loss? The damage previously mentioned is being covered by insurance.

Hi there, I have an elderly aunt looking for some advice for her timeshare. She has a timeshare in Lanzarote and because of COVID-19 she lost her job and is currently struggling financially. I’m trying to find out the options for her. I have spoken to the resort but all they can do is offer a payment plan and split the yearly fee into monthly.
