We bought this in 2014 and have had a number of companies getting us out – my question is there any way I can check if we are out as we don’t get any maintenance bills and have had no contact with them since 2017

For some strange reason we cannot fix the problem of answering this question so I have the response here from a lawyer who specialises in current Silverpoint cases.

Dear Robert,

The liquidation of Silverpoint is very complicated and there is not a website you can find out this information, you would need to appoint Spanish legal representation to investigate. Having said that even though the maintenance bills have stopped, you still have a right to a possible claim (will depend on what you purchased from Silverpoint). I bought a timeshare in Malta which had a 25 year ‘contract’ which was fine. But in Jan 2012, I was offered free holiday in Tenerife, only condition being that I would attend a presentation I was not allowed to take my friend in with me and the culmination was that I ended up paying £3400 to exchange to a point system. I later discovered that this contract was in perpetuity, and I have never used it during the last 9 years due to severe mental health issues . My son has used it once . We are paying out money for something we don’t use. What can I do?
