We have owned a time share( Marina Park since 1990 a floating member we have not been allowed to use it over the past couple of years but still have to pay a large maintainable cost. I have a timeshare in Malta. My question is, I have paid 2020 maintenance fees of £980 but couldn’t go last year due to the pandemic.
I want to book a week in October and they won’t confirm the booking until I pay 2021 maintenance fees.

Can they do that? Because I have paid for the week I want. And also they say I have to take 2021 weeks this year which I can’t. But they are holding me to ransom for £980 in order to take a week I have already paid for.

Please could you tell me if they can do that.

Hi there, I have an elderly aunt looking for some advice for her timeshare. She has a timeshare in Lanzarote and because of COVID-19 she lost her job and is currently struggling financially. I’m trying to find out the options for her. I have spoken to the resort but all they can do is offer a payment plan and split the yearly fee into monthly. Please could you let us know what could happen if she stopped paying it.
