Hi there, I have an elderly aunt looking for some advice for her timeshare. She has a timeshare in Lanzarote and because of COVID-19 she lost her job and is currently struggling financially. I’m trying to find out the options for her. I have spoken to the resort but all they can do is offer a payment plan and split the yearly fee into monthly. Please could you let us know what could happen if she stopped paying it.

For some strange reason we cannot fix the problem of answering this question so I have the response here from a lawyer who specialises in current Silverpoint cases.
Dear Robert,
The liquidation of Silverpoint is very complicated and there is not a website you can find out this information, you would need to appoint Spanish legal representation to investigate. Having said that even though the maintenance bills have stopped, you still have a right to a possible claim (will depend on what you purchased from Silverpoint). We want to get rid of our Sheraton vistana resort timeshare in Florida. Been in contact with sell my time share company based there in Florida, they will then advertise it for sale at a cost of $1998. That includes all finalising documents and transfer fees etc. Does not guarantee sale. Is this my best option to relinquish my ownership? I just want to be rid of it and stop paying fees when I’m not able to use it. Other companies here in UK are able to do it but don’t give an exact price of what it would cost.
