Hi, I bought a timeshare at Island Village many years ago (about 1985) we paid around 5k for 2 weeks and we used it maybe 3 times. We started to receive demands for annual maintenance fees and at the time we couldn’t afford to pay them so we let things lapse. I still have the title deeds for the two weeks, do I still have the rights to sell these?

We had a judgement against our timeshare with Anfi being declared null and void by the Court of the First Instance in Gran Canaria and for the return of our payments to Anfi, with interest added. This was in January ...Read more

We had a judgement against our timeshare with Anfi being declared null and void by the Court of the First Instance in Gran Canaria and for the return of our payments to Anfi, with interest added. This was in January 2018 and was dealt with by Canarian Legal Alliance based in GC. Since then, apart from promises of the matter should be resoved “very soon” we have not received one penny.
The finance was with Barclays Partner Finance who I understand has been penalised for their role in funding these purchases.

Our solicitors say they will provide a notarised letter stating that our timeshare contract with MGM has been terminated and that under no circumstances should I contact MGM – if they contact me for unpaid maintenance payments I should contact the solicitors. I am feeling more and more uneasy about this as I was hoping for a notarised letter from Muthu saying that the contract had been terminated, Will our solicitor’s letter stand up in court ?
