I have never used the timeshare all I have ever done is pay them i wanted to cancel it, but they would not and now they are Sueing me. What can I do?

We have owned a time share( Marina Park since 1990 a floating member we have not been allowed to use it over the past couple of years but still have to pay a large maintainable cost. We don’t want it any more and we’re going to take back our membership certificate this year but holiday got cancelled again. How do we get rid of this now burden around our necks as I retire in a few months. I hear the Spanish government are now closing all the timeshare properties anyway
